Corporate Controller Job Opening in Holland, Michigan - Summary
Plans and directs accounting activities within the Genzink Steel Finance department by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages and completes month-end and year-end closings, including work performed by Staff Accountants and other personnel
Coordinates and prepares financial statements and closing schedules to meet Management presentation targets (per CFO)
Manages the integration of budget and forecast data into the reporting system, including uploads into JobBoss, coordinating with monthly reporting and providing feedback to managers and Project Managers
Manages inter-company and debt reporting
Manages balance sheets for Genzink Steel, including Reserves, Accruals, Pre-paid, and Account Reconciliations
Manages reporting and analysis, coordinating with department managers
Manages divisional cost analysis and reporting Genzink Steel and includes internal reporting with Managers and Project Managers, estimates vs. actual, percent complete reporting, and use tax analyses
Manages inventory reporting, including scrap, WIP and labor and overhead in WIP; improves flow, accuracy, validity and timing of reports through JobBoss.
Fluent in all areas of legal compliance for corporate financial transactions.
Participation will be required at an executive level including strategic planning, bank relationship management, investment analysis and shareholder presentation.
Back up for payroll processing
Responsible for both accounting and treasury functions and staff.
Performs miscellaneous external reporting
Performs system and reporting development and enhancement
Performs other duties and project as required
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four year college or university in finance or accounting and five to seven years related experience in accounting with a commercial enterprise, prefer manufacturing experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Highly skilled communicator both verbally and in writing.
Mathematical Skills
Thorough knowledge of general accounting including thorough skills knowledge plus the application of general accounting theory
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Previous experience with Microsoft Office required
Previous experience with JobBoss software desired
