Bookkeeper Job Opening in Flemington, New jersey - Summary: Reporting to the General Manager the Bookkeeper plans and directs accounting activities within the Finance function as well as books and maintains all finance entries on the Finance system, MS Dynamics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the management team to assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, and payroll.
Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning and producing long-term business plans
Manages accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting; ensures accuracy and timeliness.
Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
Manages weekly and monthly closing of financial records and posting of weekly and month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements.
Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses and insurance records.
Participates in cost analyses and pricing.
Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
Ensures that assigned projects are successfully completed on time and within budget.
Works with the management team and contributes to the Continuous Improvement program, assists with change projects and supporting problem solving teams with financial data. Provides accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
Supports the General Manager as a liaison between the company, government and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, explains variances as necessary.
: Recognised Bookkeeping Qualification; minimum five years related experience.
Key Skills: Good oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, commercial awareness, initiative and the ability to work as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical abilities are crucial.

Salary: $35,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year
