Assistant Controller Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - Latitude Beverage is one of the fastest growing wine companies in the US. We purchase finished wines from wineries that have a pedigree of accolades and in return sell them to customers at a fraction of the original price. Our flagship brand is 90+ Cellars; other brands include Iron Side Cellars, Mija Sangria, Lila, and Magic Door. We are a growing and fun company, looking for a motivated, detail oriented assistant controller to report directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee finance and accounting functions including Billing, AR, AP, and Collections.
Payroll & HR Administrator, including timely and accurate processing of both weekly & semi-monthly payroll
Responsible for cash management, bank reconciliations and monthly close process
Assist with inventory management including review of costing, cycle and monthly counts, and controls
Assist Sales Management with reporting/metrics against budget.
Administer annual commission and bonus plans
Ensure that all the statutory and tax filings are completed within required timelines
Assist President and CFO with special projects such as budgets, forecasting, and board of advisor reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or professional certification such as CPA or CMA a plus
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in private, for profit business; experience in beverage, food, distribution preferred
High attention to detail and accuracy to ensure high quality
Proficient with Microsoft Office. NetSuite experience a plus.
Collaborates with others or as part of a team
Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems
