Northwest Regional Sales Manager Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Travel throughout assigned territory and make calls on current customers/accounts in order to upkeep business relations and to maintain and or expand sales orders. Travel throughout assigned territory and solicit new customer/accounts and develop avenues for continued growth through the "pioneering" of new business in multiple classes of trade while continuing to grow existing business. Compile list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet websites, and other sources. Provide samples, catalogs and displays of products and conduct presentations that emphasize salable product features to current customers and potential customers. Accurately quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contract for orders obtained. Communicate in and interact with the manufacturing plants in various departments (traffic and distribution, sales, purchasing an accounting) to ensure orders are processed through a final delivery and receipt without error or delay. If needed, can assist with securing customer payment. Prepare and maintain accurate reports of business transactions and expense accounts. Remain current with marketplace trends for product area and be able to communicate that information with staff and, if appropriate, customers or potential customers. Ability to develop, assemble and present effective business reviews. Be able to recruit, train, evaluate and how your brokers if business conditions were in it.
Qualifications: bachelors degree from a four-year college or university is preferred and 3 to 5 years of specific (e.g. Food service or wholesale accounts) sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience within the paper segment is highly preferred.
