General Concrete Superintendent
ACC Southwest is seeking a qualified General Superintendents operations based in Las Vegas, NV
:
Field Project Management
Knowledge of contract language, scope, requirements & limitations.
Understanding of Pay Items, Change orders & Force Account Items
Understand the project financial status and review current costs on labor, equipment, materials and subcontractors on a regular basis with the PM.
Knowledge of material quality specifications and testing requirements
Management of sub-contractors
Prompt punch-list closeout
Equipment Management
A thorough understanding of equipment as it pertains to concrete structures. (ie: Bidwell, Cranes. Forklifts, Manlifts & Scaffolding)
Assure that operators are completing equipment walk-around inspections on a daily basis.
Verify that repairs are being completed and the equipment is available for use.
Ensure that operators are qualified for the equipment they are operating.
Project Safety
Making Safety a top priority without exception
Knowledge of all aspects of safety as it pertains to the projects
Maintain a safe/clean work site.
Hold weekly jobsite wide toolbox / safety meetings and site inspections.
Monitor safety practices of sub-contractors and hold them to ACC?s standards.
Document safety violations and take appropriate action as per corporate policies.
Never walk past and unsafe act or condition
Personnel Management
Verify and monitor project staffing
Recommend, hire, reassign, layoff and / or terminate personnel as the projects require per corporate procedures.
Documentation of employee?s work performance and or safety issues per corporate procedures.
Continually train employees on the job site through weekly safety/quality meetings and additional training as necessary.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
10 years of experience with all aspects of Heavy Highway/Civil concrete work
A thorough understanding of concrete formwork construction and design.
Ability to organize and schedule multiple crews and projects
The ability to read and evaluate plans and specifications
Knowledge of basic construction cost accounting
Above Average verbal and written skills
Basic computer skills
A basic understanding of traffic control requirements
The ability to complete First-Aid / CPR training and Competent Person Training as outlined in the Corporate Safety Policy within 60 days of being hired.
Ability to repeatedly lift 30+ pounds and navigate unstable ground conditions
