Estimating and Sales Support for Remodeling Company Job Opening in Salt Lake City, Utah - General Description
The Estimator and Sales Support position is responsible for planning and organizing construction projects from the first proposal that is presented to the client until the job complete including any warranty issues. During construction you will continually oversee billing, change orders and customer relations. Your main goal is organize and package the project so that production can successfully build the project. Once the construction is complete, you will regroup with production and sales to study the project and make necessary changes for future projects.
Responsibilities & Duties
Administrative
Provide administrative assistance to the President and Office Manager as needed.
Coordinate lines of communication between all employees and ensure that all information is distributed as necessary.
Distribute faxes, mail, and phone messages to appropriate in boxes. * Organize, file, and maintain all client, subcontractor, and vendor files prior to, during and after project being passed to construction.
Help create and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Help troubleshoot existing policies and recommend improvements where needed. Assist in developing, implementing, enforcing, and updating office policies and procedures.
Answer telephones and take messages as necessary. Greet visitors and callers and assist them as needed.
Jobs & Clients
Maintain client job files and notebooks as the project develops and is built.
Design
Create plans for projects as necessary including floor plans, elevations, building sections.
Document and draw existing conditions for projects.
Meet with clients, subcontractors, and project managers as necessary throughout project.
Estimating and Sales Support
Assist president with estimating and sales by doing the following:
Review preliminary plans, scope and budget. Then work with subs and vendors to arrive at a final plan scope and budget.
Help organize subcontractor site visits by calling subcontractors, faxing scope of work to each trade with directions to job, and following up the day of the site visit. Prior to site visit, create trade contractor scope of works (requests to bid).
Obtain material samples and pricing. Do material take offs.
Create and distribute bid packages.
Create client selection sheets.
Organize sales folders as projects develop.
Create field notebooks when jobs are sold.
Obtain building permits. Check that company has all necessary information and documents to apply for permit. Familiarize yourself with permit requirements and procedures.
Help establish and improve ?Sales-to-Production? handoff.
Work with office manager to do weekly job costing on current projects.
Study job cost reports at the end of each project and participate in job autopsy. Make necessary changes as needed.
Subcontractors & Vendors
Provide subs and suppliers with the necessary information so that they can estimate and trouble shoot projects prior to construction.
Follow up with subs after they visit site and update Company?s scope of work after subs have given their input.
Check pricing periodically to insure that Company is receiving competitive pricing.
Request, maintain, and update unit and other pricing from primary subcontractors.
Maintain spreadsheet/data base of pricing for all major trades.
Required Experience
3 years in a comparable position in the Remodeling industry.
5 years remodeling experience.
