Senior Accountant Job Opening in South Bend, Indiana - A Senior Accountant opportunity is currently available with Lebermuth. The successful candidate will prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and reports, with accuracy and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Responsibilities representative of the role include:
Accurately record accounting transactions with an understanding of how each relates to asset, liability and equity accounts
Maintain and balance accounts payable by reconciling and posting transactions
Prepare vendor payments for processing
Prepare income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
Monitor accounts receivable
Maintain fixed asset records
Assist with annual budget preparation
Participate in annual physical inventory
Provide supervision to Accounting assistants, and perform their job functions, in the event of any absences
Qualified candidates offer a Bachelor?s degree in accounting and a minimum of two years? applicable work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. CPA certification is preferred. Accuracy and speed in typing and data entry are required, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. A strong working knowledge and experience with ERP systems is required.
