COBOL Software Developer Job Opening in Washington, District of columbia - Clearance Required: Active Secret
Overview:
Support the Department of State?s Payroll with other supporting and related applications. This position will be responsible for the programming of a large mainframe payroll system. This individual will be part of the Programming and Design team tasked with translating software requirements into design specification and/or coding the new requirements. They will need to have working knowledge of COBOL.
Responsibilities:
Participate in a full software engineering life cycle support for large-scale enterprise computer system
Design, test, document, train, implement, and support user services
Help formulate system plans, strategies, and approaches to best operate, maintain and eventually transition to new
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor Degree and Certification + 10 years of experience
Required :
IBM Common Business Oriented language (Cobol programming)
MVS Job Control language (JCL)
Interactive System Productivity Facility/ Program Development Facility (ISPF/PDF)
IBM Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM)
Preferred :
Web Services experience
Strong written and verbal communication
Strong organizational and time management skills
Capability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Other Responsibilities:
Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
Perform other duties as assigned by Program Manager
