Psychiatrist Job Opening in Las Vegas, Nevada - Position Summary: Working as part of a collaborative care team, the person in this position will provide psychiatric clinical expertise to insure that patient driven, family centered, trauma informed quality healthcare services are delivered to individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. The person in this position will bring together their knowledge, skills and experience learned from both their medical and mental health education to provide an integrated view of overall well-being to the population Job Functions: * Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals * Conduct tests and examinations to diagnose the individual * Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders * Refer and certify individuals with acute conditions to hospitals or other service providers as necessary * Collaborate with medical staff, social workers, peer support specialist and other care team members to design individualized care plans and discuss treatment plans and progress * Explain treatment plans to individuals and provide family support throughout treatment program * Provide individual and group psychiatric psychotherapy * Attend staff meetings, inter-disciplinary conferences and reviews as required * Provide in-service training as required * Document and update client case records in the electronic health record * Serve on on-call status to meet emergency situations * Ensure that client care complies with state codes and regulations * Performs other duties as directedEssential Qualifications: * Two (2) years of experience working with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders * Experience in utilizing telehealth for service provision preferred or willingness to learn * Current driver?s license Education: * Nevada licensed, Board certified or eligible psychiatrist with an M.D. degreeWorking Conditions: * Work is primarily performed in an office or treatment facility either face to face or through telehealthPhysical Demands: * The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, BUT exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks; * Occasional risk of intensive physical activity with clients; and * Sitting, standing, walking, reaching are performed in the normal course of the position.
