QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
It is required that the Community Relations Director has a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency. It is preferred that the Community Relations Director has a minimum of a degree in marketing or business.
EXPERIENCE
It is preferred that the Community Relations Director has two years of experience working as a Marketing Director or other position closely related to this field, preferably with a hospital or long term care facility.
SKILLS REQUIRED

Analytical : Collects and researches data and synthesizes complex or diverse information using intuition and experience.
Customer Service: Manages difficult or emotional resident, family member, and employee situations, responding promptly to their request for service and assistance, while soliciting feedback to improve service ensuring that commitments are met.
Interpersonal: Possesses an outgoing, energetic personality. Maintains confidentiality. Listens to others without interrupting and keeps emotions under control. Remains open to the ideas of others and tries new things. Focuses on solving conflict and not blaming.
Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens carefully and gets clarification. Responds well to questions.
Team Work: Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting objectivity and openness to the views of others. Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
Planning and Time Utilization : Consistently plans/coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency without sacrificing quality, accuracy, and customer service. Meets deadlines in completing job assignments and special projects.
Computer Skills: Literate in Word and Excel, as well as preferred skills in Outlook and Medicare billing software.
Written Skills : Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; is able to read and interpret written information.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Community Relations Director include overall design and implementation of all internal marketing programs. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to training, ad development and placement, collateral development, monitoring and development of all community programs pertaining to inside sales and marketing, all of which are designed to provide each community with the tools and support to maintain above average occupancy goals.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
ESSENTIAL
The following job functions have been determined to be essential to the position. Management reserves the right to modify this list and other functions as deemed necessary.
Develop an overview of the company marketing programs by working, overseeing, or observing all community marketing efforts.
Implement company marketing policies and procedures, and assure compliance by Executive Director.
Assist in hiring, training, motivating, supervising and evaluating each director's role in marketing.
Implement any company disciplinary policies and procedures that are appropriate.
Ensure that the Community meets company-established marketing standards.
Assure that established marketing budget guidelines for each Community are maintained through the development, implementation and monitoring of budget control and cost containment programs.
Develop internal Community marketing policies and procedures, and other matters consistent with company philosophy, policies, and budget.
Review building and grounds through supervision of preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure a good first impression.
Participate individually and in teamwork activities in striving for quality services, resident care, job performance, etc.
Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions, and the information relating to residents, employees, and the Community.
Solicit, review, intervene and report complaints and grievances made by residents, families, visitors, agencies, etc. to the Executive Director.
Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and interest in residents' personal and health care needs.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Thrive Senior Living.
Provide leadership skills that foster enthusiasm to market and sell our products.
Ensure that marketing plans are being implemented.
Monitor daily census reports to determine needs of each community.
Conduct appropriate community visits based on needs.
Develop and provide an effective training program.
OTHER DUTIES
Audit documentation on reports for errors or inconsistencies, and make necessary corrections or document reasons for corrections not made.
Maintain liaison with Executive Directors and other company representatives.
Complete remainder of forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. not considered as essential functions.
Review and determine validity of personnel for meeting the marketing requirements of the community.
Follow established smoking regulations and report violations.
Monitor each community for possible health and safety hazards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimal strength and agility is needed. Must be capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Because the essential functions of the job may require general involvement in a healthcare facility, including but not limited to exposure to AIDS, HIV and Hepatitis 8 viruses involving Risk Classification Categories 2 and 3, environmental and safety conditions will fluctuate. To be qualified for the position, a person will have the ability to work in this type of environment without posing a direct threat to self or others.
