Embedded Computer Support Engineer Job Opening in Middleton, Wisconsin - Help Extreme Engineering Solutions maintain its tradition of providing industry-leading customer support for a wide range of embedded computing products. X-ES is looking to grow its support team by seeking a hardware-focused engineer to provide the fastest and most accurate solutions for customer issues and inquiries. Working within a small team of support engineers, this position is responsible for supporting sales by answering initial customer questions and coordinating efforts from other departments to resolve issues.
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide high-quality responses to customer questions and problems
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing to resolve customer issues
Assist sales team with pre-sales support and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and improvement
Identify trends in support inquiries, and generate corrective actions when necessary to reduce customer issues
Perform data sheet analysis and evaluation of schematic design
Provide customers with status updates on product returns and repairs
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar field is required
Previous experience as a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is a plus
Strong communication and organizational skills, with a high-level of attention to detail and consistency
Strong technical and troubleshooting skills at a schematic level
Demonstrated experience and competence in fielding technical support questions is preferred
Familiarity with any of the following is preferred: Embedded Systems, root-cause analysis, design for simulation and test, technical writing and knowledge of electronic assemblies
Travel requirement is expected to be less than 5%
