Assistant Manager (Bench) Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the overall management of the store under the direction of the Store Manager. The Assistant Store Manager executes company policies, procedures, and programs required to manage a Michaels store and maintain sales and profit. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager with managing and supervising the store experience in the store.
Primary Responsibilities: The Assistant Store Manager is expected to spend the large majority of his or her time exclusively on the management and supervision of the store. The primary responsibilities in managing and supervising the store include the following
Direct and manage store execution strategies and tactics to increase comparable store sales
Direct and manage store execution strategies to increase gross margin.
Shrink and Margin Awareness
Support recruiting, training, and retention of stores' personnel. Develop strong, stable, knowledgeable and promotable store teams to drive sales, maintain store condition and serve the customer.
Achieve store expense plan.
Manager on Duty (MOD)
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Minimum 1-year retail management experience.
Must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills.
Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with sales associates, store management, and district management.
Must successfully pass a background check
Must have ability to apply accounting principles, inventory management merchandising and Human Resource Management skills.
Regular attendance is an essential part of the job.
Must be able to work an open shift as scheduled with hours dependant on workload and seasonal changes.
Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the position as defined in the Physical Requirement matrix.
