Programmer Analyst Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design or customize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
Participate in requirements gathering design sessions and then create accurate specifications for new applications, reports, etc.
Develop new applications within Dynamics AX ERP. Maintain the integrity of the system through the use of industry standard methodologies and best practices in code design and development efforts.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix issues within the enterprise application portfolio
Document how issues are resolved.
Perform gap/fit analysis between application functionality and organizational requirements.
Assist in the development of ?team best practices? for developing new applications.
Assist in the management of the Help Desk ticketing system.
Perform peer code reviews.
Assist IT Operations in scheduled and unscheduled code promotions.
Preferred experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX or development in ERP environment.
Knowledge of C# and/or VB, Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, Source Code, and X++ Programming Language. Management systems.
Complex problem solving?identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Critical thinking ? Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Troubleshooting ? Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment including the flexibility to meet time demands and focus on quality.
6+ years? developing code in a corporate environment, minimum 2 to 3 years development experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Must be able to communicate with others.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially in workgroup and technical support scenarios.
