Sr. Java Programmer Job Opening in Saint Cloud, Minnesota - Senior Java Programmer provides advanced solution development across the business unit?s software platforms. They participate in design and requirements gathering exercises and provide technical feedback for viability and effort estimates.
Purpose :
Act as solution specialist across our operating units providing both technical design recommendations as well as actual programming services to bring those desired solutions to production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in programming request process
Attend design and scope meetings to provide system expertise and viability feedback to design requests
Provide test environments for end users to test and report issues prior to moving code into production.
Manage bug reports and investigate solutions to programs unexpected errors.
Determine if request is a enhancement or bug to existing system.
Communicate to all application owners of requested changes and facilitate the approval of all design and output changes by proper authority.
Provide feedback to management and end users relative to estimated effort and periodic status updates to completion at each stage.
Manage the proper change control to ensure expected results are moved into production after proper testing is completed.
Maintain existing systems and solutions.
Review and address user submitted system error reports.
Identify issues as they relate to programming errors or training at user level.
Monitor error logs and nightly jobs for issues and investigate solutions for events.
Participate in training sessions with end users highlighting feature sets of programs and intended uses and results.
Measurable Objectives: Programs are delivered bug free on expected project time table.
Amount of rework is minimal.
End user or enhancement requestor satisfaction is maintained throughout project.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
Bachelor Degree preferred
3-5 years working in Java based production environment
5 years working with McLeod Transportation management products.
3-5 years working with other computer languages such as Perl, Visual Basic, C, C#,
