ACCOUNTING CLERK - Payroll/General Cashier
DEPARTMENT: Accounting & Finance
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the daily management of time collection and payroll functions. Ensure timely and accurate payroll and maintenance of Associate Time and Attendance records.
Ensures all cash drops are accurate and correctly deposited daily. In addition ensures that all cash handling procedures are followed in accordance with SOP?s.
CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws
Communicate with the department heads about payroll issues.
Maintain complete confidentiality with all payroll dealings
Creating payroll journal entries, calculating and processing monthly account accruals
Preparing various reports including labour costs, vacation, lieu time, sick days etc
Calculating and verify earnings, processing appropriate deductions and withholdings
Transmit bi-weekly payroll.
Review and ensure gratuities and service charge are accurately entered into the payroll system.
Pulls vault drops and log reporting issues to management
Count daily drop and put daily deposit together
Input cash deposit by person and system for over/short
Analyze cash position and do change orders to replenish safe
Prepare paid outs
Email bank and drop to dept. heads/Accounting Management and follow up on outstanding issues
Counts main safe on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of the hotel funds.*ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS*

Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.

Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below.
Knowledge and understanding of Atelier & Ace Culture & initiatives
Technologically sound with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
Effective negotiation skills.*REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
Previous experience in same or similar position required, preferably in the hospitality industry. College degree in accounting is preferred.
