Tax Accountant - Junior Job Opening in Minneapolis, Minnesota - A small tax law firm is looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team at our St. Louis Park office. This is a unique opportunity for the candidates to obtain work experience in international tax accounting. The projected initial salary will be between $19-21 per hour based on experience and skill level.
DUTIES
Preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns
Analysis and preparation of financial statements
Research of domestic and international tax issues
Review and organization of various documents
Performance of other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Four-year Accounting degree
1-3 years Tax/Accounting experience
CPA is a plus, but not required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of GAAP is essential
Strong Excel Skills; familiarity with Proseries is a plus
Highly efficient and able to multitask and effectively manage time
Reliable, trustworthy and loyal to the firm
Very detail-oriented
Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
Desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems
Ability to perform tasks and complete projects with minimal supervision
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Background/minor in physics, mathematics and other exact sciences is a plus
