Position Summary
The Sales Analyst is responsible for participating directly in and supporting AEP Energy sales efforts and activities. To accomplish this, the Sales Analyst must provide sales with insightful market, savings, and customer specific analytics for key customer accounts and segments. This insight, both broad and customer specific, will be delivered through written reports, presentations, and customer visits.
Market Analysis:
Perform wholesale market analysis and reports. This includes but is not limited to energy markets (basis, DA/RT, forwards, historic liquidations, futures, natural gas, and correlations), capacity markets (MISO and PJM including DR and EE), transmission (NITS rates and tags), and ancillary services.
Understand and communicate impact of market and regulatory changes on various pricing components
Collaborate with others to integrate wholesale market impacts on PTCs and identify strategic opportunities.
Generate reports and market insight for internal and external consumption through personal analysis, industry articles and in collaboration with wholesale trading, risk and structuring.
Sales Support::
Generate customer specific analyses upon request. These include savings analyses (tariff or current supply contract); hedging/product strategies; competitor comparisons; and custom analyses.
Develop and maintain sales tools and aids
Generate mock invoices for standard or nonstandard products.
Provide news and content, geared towards the C&I space, on energy market developments, with technical analysis of market trends, as appropriate to sales reps and or customers.
Analyze competitor contract provisions and offerings. Build point by point analyses of AEP Energy?s offerings as a comparison.
Develop and conduct ride along presentations with sales reps for key customer opportunities or accounts.
Assist sales reps with developing prescriptive solutions for customers and customer prospects, in accordance with Challenger principles
Assist sales reps with developing account plans for current customers to further retention and sales growth.
Collaborative Efforts:
Stay abreast of AEP Energy?s affiliate companies offerings and capabilities for packing in customer solutions.
Work closely with lead generation, pricing, structuring, PTC forecasting, and sales to bring out the best solutions that AEP Energy can provide customers.
Meaningfully contribute to sales strategy development and plans by knowing and sharing the customers? perspective of the market and offerings.
