Responsibilities:
Building the technical and cultural foundations of our engineering team
Initiating and owning your projects
Tackling latency and throughput challenges in data process and request serving
Designing and implementing a versatile platform which supports a wide range of features for thousands of users
Designing, implementing, and experimenting with features and algorithms to improve search quality
Having lots of fun with your colleagues, in and out of the office
Qualifications:
Depth of knowledge in computer science (e.g., a CS degree or extensive experience)
Experience in systems programming (e.g. coding against POSIX or bare metal) experience with the internals of a system (such as an operating system, database, web server, etc.)
Desire to participate in a fast-paced and intense startup environment
Experience in a higher level language such as Golang, Python, Java, or Javascript
Must haves:
Caching infrastructure for API requests
Data modeling to optimize for performance based on access paths
Replicating and sharding multiple data storage systems
Designing APIs and abstractions to expose to the web front-end
Building servers and clients for data storage and querying
