A/R Property Accountant & Office Administrator Job Opening in San Francisco, California - Ralston Management Group, an established Real Estate investment and management firm, is currently searching for a full-time A/R Accountant who has previous experience successfully working in a small property management or Real Estate office, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, dependable, and capable of providing exceptional customer and accounting support.
This position will report primarily to our South San Francisco office, but training and auditing may require occasional days reporting to our San Francisco offices.
This position will be tasked with full charge collections for 20+ apartment buildings with separate ownership structures.
Essential Functions
A/R Responsibilities
Monitor receipts, review and bill tenant recurring charges and billing adjustments, and perform tenant ledger reconciliations.
Review leases and leasing activity to ensure accurate billing.
Process checks for online depositing.
Prepare collections notices as needed.
Formulate increases according to rent control laws
Office/Admistrative Responsibilities
Responsible for all clerical, administrative and operational tasks necessary to maintain a well-functioning office,
Proper care and handling of visitors, telephone calls, e-mails and correspondence received.
Creating and maintaining paper and digital filing systems
Acquiring office supplies;
Opening and closing the office daily
Skills/Abilities
Accuracy - is able to take the time necessary to ensure things are entered right the first time and knows how to double check and triple check
Perceptive - knows when to look at the big picture and ask why or how. No data entry drones needed.
Adaptability - maintains effectiveness in varying environments, tasks and responsibilities, and with various types of people.
Customer Focus - dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the external and internal customer, acts with customer in mind, establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, and gains their trust and respect.
Learning on your feet - learns quickly when facing new problems, open to change, quickly grasps the essence and underlying structure of anything, and enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
Knowledge of California Rent Laws and SF Rent Control laws a plus.
Qualifications
High School Diploma & College Degree or coursework in Accounting or equivalent combination of experience and education.
3-5 Years real estate accounting experience preferred.
Full Microsoft Office product knowledge required with advanced level Excel knowledge required.
Quickbooks and Appfolio or Yardi or similar property management software knowledge preferred.
The ideal candidate will have the experience necessary to hit the ground running, and fulfill the obligations of this role with limited training and supervision.
