Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting for the company and thus should be the primary point of contact for all such matters. This person will have close communication with the Controller and other top executives to ensure timely and accurate reporting for all financials. The Accounting Manager should work well in a fast-paced, team oriented, and active work environment in order to produce at maximum efficiency and should demonstrate flexibility to perform well in a variety of scenarios. Specific responsibilities include:
Review and code subcontractor invoices & lien releases for Project Manger's approval
Assist with cash management process, such as entering invoices, recording cash receipts and bank reconciliations
Work closely with top leadership to ensure timely payments to sub-contractors and vendors
Responsible for accounts receivable collections
Prepare reports and special projects required by management
Enter approved budgets for contracts and subcontracts
Provide monthly Job Cost reports to Project Managers and Senior Management
Financial Statements including the ability to fully support and explain all lines
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare final invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects
Responsible for all accounts payable activities
Responsible for ensuring that the costs of all construction and capital spending projects are recorded and tracked accurately and timely
Update contract budgets with change orders
Responsible for construction draw process which includes preparation, compiling detailed supporting documentation for approval, sending draws directly to clients and/or title companies; follow project to completion
Monthly reporting (including B/S, P&L, A/R, A/P, etc.)
Invoicing and customer payments and aging analysis
Background
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or related field
5+ years of experience in real estate development or construction preferred
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required
Technology and software skills including Timberline or Sage 300 preferred
