Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper Job Opening in Holly, Michigan - Broad Street Valuations, Inc is a growing and well positioned National Appraisal Management Company located in Holly, Michigan. We provide residential real estate appraisals in all areas of all 50 states primarily for the mortgage and banking industry by utilizing certified appraisers as independent contractors in each local market.
Broad Street Valuations, Inc has an immediate openings for a hardworking and highly organized Bookkeeper. It is an active job requiring someone with a positive attitude, a high level of urgency, and excellent problem solving skills. Successful candidates will project a professional image while interfacing with lenders, borrowers, and appraisers to facilitate the appraisal management process.
General Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Verifying receipts, invoices and payments for accuracy and consistency
Create and post journal entries to general ledger
Balance accounts and prepare financial statements
Ensure accounting records are current and in good order
Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests
Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
Conduct a monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Assist the Vice President with special projects
Answers vendor payment inquiries
Provide back-up to other team members as needed or directed
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Required Experience
Minimum of 1 year of undergraduate bookkeeping or accounting education, with courses in business math.
Minimum of 2 years of general bookkeeping or other relevant experience in bank and investment reconciliation, cash receipts and disbursements
Knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable
Proficient PC skills, including Quick Books, MS Excel and MS Word.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials, technical procedures, plan documents and memos
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to interact with other departments in furnishing or obtaining information or reports
Solid organization skills with strong detail orientation
Ability to plan and schedule work to meet deadlines
The Accounting position has a starting salary of $40,000. Available shift is full time Monday through Friday: 8am to 5pm (with a 1 hour lunch).
