Staff Accountant Job Opening in East Meadow, New york - EPIC LONG ISLAND is a premier support organization serving individuals with physical, intellectual or emotional challenges, including epilepsy. Our expanding programs include residential, day program, community habilitation, comprehensive clinical mental health services and community education.
EPIC LI is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their fiscal team.
Responsibilities:
Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
Prepare monthly claim forms for Nassau County
Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions
Prepare documentation for external auditors
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
1-2 years of experience as a staff accountant
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Highly motivated, professional and able to work independently and as a member of a team
