Property Accountant Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - RMK Management / Moran And Company, a Chicago based real estate broker, developer and property manager was established in 1971. The firm is privately held and employs over 300 people and has offices in Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, Dallas, California, Seattle and Maryland and Minnesota. The company generates over $200 million in total revenues. In the Chicagoland area, the company manages over 6600 apartment units and currently has several apartment projects in development.
RMK property management accountant is responsible for the monthly accounting and financial statement reporting for a group of residential rental properties and corporate accounting. Position is located at our corporate headquarters in the loop. The number and size of properties will vary according to management contracts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Monthly bank reconciliation
Reconciliation of monthly accounts receivable activity
Reconciliation of monthly accounts payable activity
Maintain General Ledger on a cash and accrual basis of accounting
Reconciliation of escrow accounts
Replacement reserve draw requests
Budgeting
Review of Managers variance analysis
Maintain Depreciation Schedules
Maintain schedules for annual financial statement audits
Monthly Cash Flow Reforecast report
Other projects
Limited commercial/retail accounting
Each property is subject to individual reporting and accounting requirements depending on the lender and owner. Responsibilities above are subject to such requirements. Candidate must have a 4 year accounting degree and minimum 2 years of experience in the property management industry.
Software Skills: Yardi, Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook
