Admin Coordinator, Physicians for Social Responsibility Job Opening in austin, Texas - Admin Coordinator, Physicians for Social Responsibility Administrative Coordinator Austin Physicians for Social Responsibility (Austin PSR), a growing chapter of the national nonprofit PSR, is accepting applications for a part-time Administrative Coordinator. This would be a 10-15 hour/week position; a possibility exists in the future to increase the number of hours per week, up to 20 hrs per week. Austin PSR is a group of physicians, nurses, other health care providers, and concerned citizens working to promote a healthy environment and sound national security policies (for more info, go to ). It is a young local chapter in need of capable and efficient administrative support. The Administrative Coordinator will oversee operations for the local Austin PSR chapter. Responsibilities will include composing and sending a monthly email update, grant applications and reports, website updates, program planning and administration, coordinating other events and activities, and fundraising. The Administrative Coordinator will work closely with the Austin PSR Co-Presidents, but must be able to pursue work independently. Minimum requirements include: ? Strong dedication to environmental / health issues and PSR?s mission ? Knowledge and a minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental/ health/non-profit arena ? Bachelor?s Degree, preferably in Environmental Science, Health, Communications or Administration field ? Administrative, organizing or management experience ? Fundraising experience desired ? Strong computer/ communications skills, including the ability to write effective press releases and statements and conduct internet research ? Experience researching, writing and submitting grants in a timely manner. Strong editing skills needed. ? Programs ? MSWord, Power Point, Excel ? Graphics abilities and web skills desired ? Ability to coordinate effectively with a group of people, articulate goals and accomplishments on a regular basis ? A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work quickly under pressure from deadlines. ? Creative thinking and the ability to recognize and act on opportunities to help Austin Physicians for Social Responsibility to develop, grow, fundraise and effectively reach out to new members and donors.
