HSE Specialist Job Opening in Tulsa, Oklahoma - Position Title: HSE Specialist

Purpose:
The HSE Specialist serves as the technical expert in developing, implementing, assessing and maintaining appropriate risk management and HSE policies for the client. Responsibilities include PHA facilitation, creation and oversight of safety and risk management policies and procedures, and management system consulting.
Reports to AFS Compliance Services Manager.
Duties and Essential Functions:
* Facilitation of Process Hazard Analyses (PHA)* Interaction with wide variety of clients * Risk and hazards mitigation consulting* Operational assurance consulting
Job Requirements:
Education:
* Completion of 4-day or 5-day PHA Facilitator/Leader training with certificate from Primatech, ABS, or equivalent within past 5 years, or within 4 months of hiring date.* Preferred -- B.S. or better in Chemical, Safety or Mechanical Engineering, or MS in Chemistry or Environmental Science.
Experience:
* Required: Experienced PHA facilitator - 10 or more studies led* Required: Capable of reading P&IDs, PFDs, and Area Classification Plans, and Safety Equipment Plans* Strongly Preferred: Plant or facilities operations or engineering experience - 3 - 10 years* Preferred: Experience working in PSM programs and/or PSM Auditing
Skill Requirements:
* Ability to clearly and effectively facilitate technical meetings* Ability to work in team environment* Technical writing skills* Basic understanding of process facility unit operations such as piping and valves, pumps, compressors, distillation, flow measurement, etc.* Ability to understand and follow P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus.
Working Environment:
Mostly office, but will need to travel up to 50% of the time.
