Integrated Care Behavioral Health Therapist Job Opening in Layton, Utah - Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking two (2) full-time Behavioral Health Therapists to work in an integrated care model. The masters level therapist utilizes clinical expertise to assess patients? behavioral health needs, provide direct individual and group therapy, develop personalized treatment plans, and in conjunction with a Recovery Support Specialist helps patients find needed resources or services. The behavioral health therapist works collaboratively with patients, patient's natural support systems, families, healthcare providers, insurers, community resources and all other involved parties.
This position will provide therapy to patients with behavioral healthcare needs, with a priority for those receiving medication assisted treatment (MAT). Therapy and recovery support services will occur in a collaborative, team-based treatment model within Primary Care (Medical Home) sites in Intermountain Healthcare clinics in Layton and Bountiful. This clinician will coordinate care with physicians, PA's, NP's, nurses, and medical assistants. The Clinical Social Worker will provide direct, individual therapy and assessment to patients needing behavioral health services.
Primary Job Duties
Provide therapy and coordinate services for people with mental health & substance use disorders.
Screen, diagnose and treat various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.
Provide the ASSIST screening every 90 days to each client receiving MAT.
Coordinates service delivery within the primary care and community settings.
Assess the patient's medical history, mental health and substance use history, and current presentation to understand the patient's needs from treatment.
Provide outpatient co-occurring mental health and substance use therapy to adolescents and adults.
Properly documents clinical information.
Comply with federal, state, local and clinical program/facility standards.
Provide a high intensity outreach and coordination of care and support for patients receiving medication assisted treatment (MAT)
Act within the scope of the Mental Health Practice Act
This is a full-time, exempt position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule may require some evening work. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.
Required Experience
Experience in substance use disorder treatment, coordination of care, and community outreach. Preference given to clinicians who have provided medication assisted treatment and who speak English and Spanish. Preferred Requirements include experience in medical social work and/or experience coordinating care with medical staff including physicians providing MAT.
Skills Abilities
Must be able to provide screenings and assessments. Must have good therapeutic knowledge and skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent judgment. Must effectively work independently and within a team. Must be highly motivated, flexible and have excellent engagement and organizational skills. Must be proficient with electronic charting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
Davis Behavioral Health utilizes an electronic medical record which requires proficiency in computer-related skills.
Licensing Requirements
Due to the structure and integrated health components of this position and the requirement for the successful candidate to be paneled with insurance companies, this position requires full licensure as a LCSW or CMHC in the State of Utah. Preference will be given for candidates with full LCSW licensure due to the added flexibility this license provides for insurance credentialing and potential movement throughout the agency.
Additional Requirements and Preferences
All DBH employees must successfully pass both a pre-employment background screening as well as a drug screening.
Preference will also be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish.
