Information Systems Support Technician Job Opening in Alexandria, Virginia - Information Systems Support Technician information systems support technician. this position will be responsible for providing high-level hardware and software support to include troubleshooting, documenting, and resolving network and desktop hardware and software issues. the information systems support technician fields incoming help desk requests and provides hands-on technical assistance and training. maintains accurate inventory of all desktop, laptop, and computer peripherals. essential duties responsibilities: - receives, diagnoses, and resolves internal inquiries and issues related to the maintenance of workstations, tablets, phones, other mobile devices, and related systems. - ability to operate a variety of computer hardware and software including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, mobile data computers (mdcs), printers, print servers, microsoft windows and microsoft office suite. - ability to install computer hardware and software; diagnose technical problems and determine appropriate action. - ensures that all information systems-related inquiries and requests for support are logged, classified, and delegated appropriately. - maintains the library of previously reported issues and solutions. assists with analyzing data regarding help desk responsiveness and performance. - supports resolution of customer account issues related to external website. - installs, configures, upgrades, and retires computer hardware and software, as required. - maintains information technology asset inventory and associated documentation, including licenses. - maintains conference room audio/visual equipment. - provides technical expertise and works to ensure that the organization?s use of technology support its business goals. - participates in communications training programs. shares information as requested about position and tasks with communications team. as requested, participates in various outreach activities, such as career panels and guided tours. - understands and weaves our organizational sustainability objectives into daily work and decision making. - actively promotes safe behaviors and health awareness at all times in the execution of daily tasks. - attention to detail, self-motivation, and strong communication skills are essential. qualification requirements: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. education and/or experience: - associate?s degree in computer science, information technology, or combination of education and experience. - knowledge of the methods, procedures, and techniques of computer support to perform the full range of duties described above. - knowledge of principles and practices of computer hardware and software de-bugging and other troubleshooting procedures. is support tech 2 - two to three years related experience providing high-level hardware and software support to include installations, troubleshooting, and maintaining company computer systems and peripherals. - must be proficient in microsoft windows 7 and 10 and microsoft office. - must be able to produce detailed technical documentation. - excellent communication skills ***for immediate consideration, please send resumes to !***
