We are currently recruiting for an EH&S Manager to join our team in Santa Teresa, NM.
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide environmental, health, and safety management to the facility to ensure; compliance to Federally mandated requirements from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protected Agency (EPA), CommScope Corporate EHS Standards as they apply to the facility are instituted by developing, documenting and implementing programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the facility is operated in a safe, sustainable and compliant manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain required permits as mandated by EPA or authorized agency for compliant operation of facility's interaction with air, water or soil
requirements of permit or regulation as mandated by EPA or authorized agency
Ensure the facility is operating in compliance with all applicable CommScope Corporate EHA Standards and procedure requirements
Provide awareness and training information to workforce on environmental matters
Ability to manage ISO14000 and OHSAS18001 system audit compliance and employee training
Interface closely with Licensed Professional Health Care Professional (LPHCP) to develop wellness and prevention programs
Provide analysis and correction of present and potential health care concerns that immediate or long term
use of new processes, equipment, and chemicals from environmental and safety prospective
Increase employee awareness of CommScope's Safety Mission and Vision
Develop risk management and process safety management programs aimed to achieve the CommScope EHS Policy, mission and visions
Develop and ensure delivery of required (OSHA) training
Coordinate/perform periodic safety audits and reviews
Report performance trends to management on regular basis
Manage incident investigation and the emergency preparedness program
Manage/lead contract security force and surveillance equipment, review resolve incidents/potential incidents
QUALIFICATIONS:
A completed Bachelor's Degree in related technical curriculum and 5-10 years of related experience
Previous experience in development and implementation of EHS programs for manufacturing and distribution required
Previous experience in ISO 14001 and/or OSHAS 18001 required and preferable a ISO 14001 and/or OSHAS18001 Management Systems Lead Auditor
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations required
Candidates must have strong project management and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of pertinent local, national, EHS laws, regulations, guidance and accreditation standards
Knowledge of statistic, data collection, analysis, and data presentation
Problem-solving and training skills: can influence people
, ability to handle diverse situations with limited management direction
Manage multiple locations
Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing environment and challenges
Strong PC skills, MS Office and other applications as required
Ergonomics knowledge and/or experience preferred
