Civil Support Specialist Job Opening in Idaho City, Idaho - Distributes subpoenas, writs of execution, restitution or attachment for service. Performs a variety of clerical and accounting functions designed to carry out proper maintenance of records of the office of the County Sheriff. Assist the Civil Support Administrator is completing the duties and responsibilities of the office.
MAJOR DUTIES: (illustrative only)
Assists in maintaining County records pertaining to Service of Civil Papers submitted by Civil Courts, Attorneys, Judges, and private citizens.
Distributes Subpoenas from both Criminal and Civil Courts for service.
Assists in the maintenance of departmental financial records; prepares entries for recording transactions; records collections for Sheriff?s fees and licenses.
Administers written examination and visual tests to determine applicant?s eligibility for driver?s license; issues licenses and collects fees.
Issues applications for Concealed Weapon Permits.
Register Sex Offenders.
Assists in the completion of monthly reports; process civil documents; types reports and letters; files reports and departmental information; maintains records of license receipts, auto registration, criminal records and teletype data, and incoming reports from officer in the field and in person.
Takes all incoming telephone calls, log calls according to time and type of call and transfers messages to officer on patrol. Delivers outgoing documents/reports to court.
Recommends ordering of office supplies, assists with cash fund.
Performs and completes other duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Position reports to: Civil Support Administrator, Sheriff
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: Knowledge of office practices and procedures; grammar, spelling, and mathematics. Knowledge of law enforcement practices.
Skill: Ability to establish and maintain comprehensive records and files; ability to operate a variety of types of office equipment. Good typing skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, other agencies, and the public.
Experience: An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
