Software Engineer - Research And Development Job Opening in New York, New york - Our client is looking for an experienced software engineer to join them in their New York office. This is a software engineering position in the ?Research and Development? team of the company. This team works with senior researchers in the firm and focuses on two separate areas: Machine learning tools and infrastructure, and HFT Strategy infrastructure. The clients you work with are researchers and other software developers ? not traders ? and a component of the job is interacting with, and supporting their technical requirements and needs.
Responsibilities:
The machine learning work is high level, and is predominantly focused on large quantities of data, ease of access and efficient data transformations.
The HFT strategy work, in comparison, is low-level and has strict performance and latency requirements, and will require excellent working knowledge of C++, as well as willingness to learn and integrate with existing low-latency trading infrastructure.
Requirements:
Talented and enthusiastic developer
Passion for technology and desire to learn
Willing to contribute to both areas (and more, as the team responsibilities expand).
Excellent working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, C++) is preferred.
Highly self-motivated and independent, and contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle design and implementation of new features, to testing and bug fixing.
