Sr Programmer (Testers) Job Opening in Washington, District of columbia - The Veterans Relationship Management (VRM) Program and Enterprise Veterans Operations (EVO), was established in order to provide on-demand access to comprehensive VA services and benefits in a consistent, user-centric manner through a multi-channel virtual self-service and call center processing framework. This framework is aimed to enable clients to find uniform information about VA's benefits and services regardless of the access channel used to complete their transactions with VA. It allows for quickly identifying Veterans without having to repeat information and will allow Veterans seamless access to multiple VA service lines.
AMSG is in need of a Sr Programmer/Tester to support the VRM EVO office. This is a contingent hire position and if awarded, will be a full time position located on site with the VA customer at VRM PMO 1800 G Street Washington, DC. Anticipated award/start work is October 2017.
The Sr Programmer/Tester is responsible for:
Developing and modifying web-based applications, client-server applications and/or OS scripts for process automation, using skill and knowledge of application development in a Relational Database Management System or Structured Query Language (SQL);
implementing and integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software into existing architecture;
Planning, documenting, coding, modifying, testing and implementing computer programs;
Documenting test conditions, creating test data, testing programs, and analyzing results;
Performing analysis of program and production problems; and using a Systems Development Methodology;
Analyzing and designing new or existing system enhancements;
Working closely with the user to define requirements;
Writing program specifications;
Researching the use of new technologies;
Working on multiple project requests;
Applying programming and analysis skills with a detailed knowledge of the application;
Coordinating system testing and assisting users with acceptance testing;
Assisting in the development and maintenance of data and process models;
Assisting in the development of work plans and project organization.
Required Skills
Experience in test practices
Experience in industry standards
Experience with test case management and automated testing authoring tools
Experience authoring automated tests in tools such as Selenium, Rational Functional Tester, HP Unified Tester and other appropriate programming languages
Understanding of basic software development processes
Familiar with ISO/IED 25000
Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
