Embedded Software Engineer Job Opening in Columbia, Maryland - Parry Labs is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to participate in the software development of wideband phased array (electronically steerable array ? ESA) antenna products for mobile platforms. Located in Columbia, Maryland, the candidate will join our multi-disciplined engineering technical team, in the software development for phased array antennas through their complete life cycle, from concept through delivery.
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
Software and algorithm requirements development, evaluation, and tracking
Creation of software development plans, for embedded software implementations and system test environments
Development of overall algorithms and embedded software for phased array antenna operation and control, and antenna terminal external interfaces
Collaboration with embedded hardware engineer in executing the development, testing, and implementation of antenna controllers
Development of simulators of hardware operation and various interfacing units, to facilitate testing throughout the hardware development life cycle
Documentation of work product for management and customer program reviews
Desired qualifications this position include:
BS in Computer Science, or related fields
10 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years towards the application of phased array antennas
Experience with implementing communications using SPI hardware protocols
Experience in developing embedded software in a real-time operating system, a plus
Experience with related software development, such as equipment control through LabVIEW, and embedded Linux environments for the development of basic port communication protocols, using C, python, or similar
Experience in creating and developing software development plans
Experience with requirements development, testing, and validation
Familiarity with basic electronic laboratory equipment for hardware testing
Excellent interpersonal skills, along with effective written and verbal communication skills, to communicate with a diverse team of many technical and managerial levels
Some travel may be involved for this position
Candidates must be a US Citizen, and have the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation. An active security clearance is preferred.
