Customer Service, Adoption Matchmaker Requirements
Education
High School diploma or above
Experience
Candidates must have the ability to work independently as a self-starter with sound decision making skills, and able to troubleshoot problems to work in a fast paced customer environment.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS a must. This includes listening to what the customer is seeking in a furry companion.
TEAM PLAYER
Ability to work weekends. This job requires the ability to work on our busy adoption days of: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 9:30am-6:30pm
Love of dogs and cats with no restrictions in handling them including dogs up to 90#
Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
Equipment
computers, general office equipment and phone systems.
Physical
Able to stoop, bend, kneel and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Able to lift 25 lbs.
MORE INFORMATION:
Part-time AND full-time positions are available. We are a weekend-based operation, so all applicants should be able to work Saturdays and Sundays.
Applicants should be friendly, experiences, and have a strong customer service background. We'll train you on the rest!
Pet adoption counselors ("Matchmakers") are responsible for matching potential owners with appropriate shelter duties include:
talking with potential adopters to assist them in finding the best pet to match their lifestyle
spending time with our rescue pets to learn their personalities and best match them
reviewing applications
filing paperwork
observing interactions between pets and potential adopters
educating owners about proper pet care
training and supervising volunteers
processing adoption fees.
Adoption counselors may also assist with a variety of other duties at the shelter such as
processing donations
answering phones and messages
updating records
walking dogs, visiting with dogs and cats
giving tours
cleaning
laundry
Experience WORKING with animals and a passion for rescue work will be required. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who show initiative.
