Chief Cost Estimator Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - MK Consulting Engineers is a growing start-up firm serving the architectural, engineering, and construction industry in Maryland. We're a woman-owned business, providing our clients high-quality cost estimating, thoughtful and thorough site engineering design, and outstanding communication. Our employees work as a team, based in our new offices in Hampden's Whitehall Mill.
The Position
MK strives to provide accurate and comprehensive costs of construction based on the defined scope of work.
Create comprehensive cost estimates for construction at conceptual stages using parameter and historical cost data
Create comprehensive progress cost estimates, performing detailed quantity surveys at schematic, design development, and construction document phases
Work with Executive leadership on Cost Estimating operations as well as company, regional, and sector goal setting
Actively participate in the recruitment of additional employees to enhance team performance
Lead and mentor talented employees to ensure the current and future success of the market and company
The Requirements
A minimum of 15 years of experience in cost estimating or construction, with a strong desire and aptitude to lead a team
Experience in Municipal Work, Higher Education, Healthcare, Public Schools, and Assisted Living as well as a variety of other markets
Ability to read engineering and architectural drawings and specifications
Computer and technical skills including AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical skills
