Environmental intellect (Ei) is presently seeking a full-time accountant / operations leader based in Boise, Idaho to support sister companies Environmental intellect (Ei) and EiCAD. As a primary focus, we?re seeking an individual can take ownership of bookkeeping functions, financial reporting, and our accounting software (Xero). However, preference will be given to individuals who desire to support not just accounting needs, but various internal metrics and dashboards that support our business?s growth. Furthermore, we?re looking for a highly-motivated, tech-savvy individual who desires to escalate his/her career in a start-up company environment.
Our companies utilize proprietary software to provide leading compliance and computer-aided drafting (CAD) services to the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and other industries in the United States and various parts of the world. We strive, as a company, to help these industries achieve higher levels of environmental safety compliance while increasing efficiency and reducing risk exposure.
The accounting professional should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team-oriented setting and thrive working independently to achieve deadlines. Professional growth opportunities exist to support the companies with other responsibilities, including human resources, administrative, technical, and marketing roles. The possibility also exists for the right professional to develop into a Controller and/or Chief Financial Officer role.
Responsibilities Include:
Keep Xero up to date, including but not limited to: AR and AP reports, reconciliation of bank accounts, categorization of expenses, P&L, and balance sheet, amongst others.
Prepare invoices to our customers, and process (and pay) bills. As needed, follow-up with our customers and vendors on AR and AP needs.
Process and track incoming POs and outstanding balances.
Prepare and track internal invoices between Ei and EiCAD.
Generally be the "owner" of Ei accounting, bookkeeping, incoming invoices, outgoing bills, and other relevant needs.
Own the accounting shared email inbox, and ensure our task system Trello is maintained and kept up to date to ensure organized and efficient accounting workflows.
Check professional email daily and respond within 24 hours during normal workday periods.
Prepare a weekly email to the leadership team of priorities for the week and your upcoming availability during the week.
Participate in a weekly recurring accounting call with the leadership team, and provide an agenda of items to share and discuss prior to the meeting.
Utilize Ei systems on a daily basis, including but not limited to: Trello, Slack, Harvest, Google Drive, and email.
Understand and advocate Ei?s Mission Statement and Values amongst its employees and in industry.
Seek to "operationalize" everything which you do more than 10 times; recording steps in an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), developing checklists, and build tools/systems as needed to improve the scalability of Ei's operations.
Qualifications
Experience in accounting or a college Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or related program.
Creative, energetic, and detail-oriented
Strong organizational and communication skills
Must be responsible and flexible
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a startup environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and various other tools of the trade
