This is an entry level role. The ideal candidate will either be a recent college graduate with a degree in Accounting or related field or it can be a student in their final year of college with a major in Accounting or related field.

If the candidate is still in the final year of school, they are willing to work around the candidate's schedule and have part time hours if needed.

Job Overview: The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing month end close duties and subsequent reporting requirements for the business unit. Data analysis and variance research will also be integral to this role.

Job Responsibilities:
? Prepare and analyze entire monthly GL close and reconciliation for the business.
? Calculate, analyze, and report vendor rebates and customer incentives.
? Review obsolete inventory, monthly inventory consumables, and other inventory variances.
? Prepare and post monthly bank reconciliations.
? Evaluate deferred revenues and cost of sales to prepare monthly recognition entries.
? Assist with monthly forecast and variance analysis.
? Construct worksheets to evaluate operational metrics and evaluate financial impacts.
? Assist with annual budgeting.
? Complete additional financial and operational projects as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Education: Pursuing a Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance is required, having completed at least two years of program. Demonstrated skills in project management, data collection, analysis, and problem solving are necessary. The abilities to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and present findings and recommendations using excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience working with Enterprise Resource Platforms, especially AS400 and MS Dynamics AX, is preferred. Previous accounting experience or internships is preferred.
