Senior Accounting Manager/Financial Analyst Job Opening in Strasburg, Virginia - In concert with and at the direction of the Head Controller manage and guide property accounting processes with a portfolio of 15-20 limited and full service hotels, with the main objective of preparing timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and established standards. Provide training to accounting and hotel operations professionals to achieve highest level of financial compliance to company accounting policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
Review the monthly property financial statements to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of accounting records and financial reports for owners.
Develop and implement procedures and necessary training to promote the efficient, effective and timely completion of accounting activities.
Analyze accounting and management processes, recommend areas to improve efficiency and implement the changes necessary.
Perform on-site task force assignments as needed within property teams.
Handle day to day requests from corporate officers.
Provide financial analysis as required for enterprise or individual companies.
Assist with hotel transitions, of property teams in accounting procedures.
Assist with both internal and external audits to ensure complete, timely and accurate responses to information requests.
Work closely with Regional Directors, Controllers to ensure effective coordination of activities between Accounting and Operations.
Provide oversight of records management including organization and coordinate destruction of records as necessary.
Ensure compliance and satisfaction of all government, company, franchise and ownership requirements.
Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Guide budgeting process with Regional staff and accounting staff for all hotels.
Prepare financial analysis then recommend and direct process improvements to mitigate cost overruns or internal control deficiencies.
Position Requirements
Must have previous Hotel Industry experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance desired.
Expertise with accounting systems such as Excel, M3, ADP, and brand specific property management systems with the ability to train others.
Previous internal audit experience preferred.
Must possess strong analytical skills.
Occasional travel is necessary.
