VP, Finance and Accounting Job Opening in Alexandria, Virginia - You will develop and refine financial policies and metrics; driving strategic financial planning; optimizing financial modeling; ensuring appropriate system utilization; running financial reporting; developing and mentoring a capable yet lean team; and leading overall achievement of company?s financial goals and business objectives across measures of revenue, profitability, and return on investment.
The position reports directly to the CEO, serve as a member of the Executive leadership team. The person in this role will reside in the DC Metro area.
What you will do:
Lead the determination of accurate short and long-term revenue forecasts and hold us accountability for financial performance
Create and implement models and dashboards through which to track sales-to-revenue conversions and enable accurate rolling revenue forecasts based on sales activity
Implement reliable financial control systems to enable us to make timely decisions and mitigate potential barriers to the achievement of our financial goals
Lead our budgeting processes and optimize expense management within the business, driving efficiencies and ensuring that capital investments are thoroughly analyzed and operational costs are managed effectively
Lead us in the quantitative analysis and financial evaluations of potential investments, acquisitions, new brands, channel partnerships, and business opportunities
Development and implement compensation plans
Identify ways to we can automate and improve efficiencies in processes
Lead the accounting function to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, legal, benefits, taxes and reporting
Manage the order to cash process ensuring contract review and compliance, timely invoicing, and timely collections
Manage the procure to pay process ensuring visibility into disbursements and liquidity
Manage the legal, financial and compliance relationships with our related entities
Manage the monthly close process, ensuring complete and accurate reconciliations
Create and distribute board package, minutes and manage governance
Lead our office, administration and accounting team members as well as vendor partners
About you:
7+ years of demonstrated track record of performance in senior financial management roles
5+ years of experience in franchising, financial services, and/or private equity, preferred but not required
Deep expertise in building financial models, reporting, budgets, and compensation plans Demonstrated success in process improvement, system automation and efficiency gains
Minimum of a BS in accounting or finance, ideally with an MBA or related advanced degree
CPA strongly preferred
Willing to travel 10-20% of the time
