International/US Accountant Job Opening in Idaho Falls, Idaho - General Purpose of Position:
Ensures the internal controls and financial reporting in the foreign markets are accurate, timely, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Assists with financial accounting for US entities.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversee financial reporting of the foreign affiliates for internal, regulatory, and tax purposes.
Implement corporate finance policies and procedures in the foreign markets. Recommend adaptations to corporate policies to comply with local regulations and needs.
Implement and support computer systems in foreign markets.
Create templates for reconciliations for financial reporting and internal controls.
Maintain working relationships with accounting managers in the foreign markets.
Identify and implement cost saving projects.
Prepare journal entries and reconcile account balances for income statements and balance sheets. Research and reconcile discrepancies and recommend actionable solutions.
Prepare and analyze various cash and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Work closely with peers to identify process improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Staff will not directly report to this position but Accounting Managers in foreign markets will follow directions from the International Accountant so some supervisory experience would be helpful.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting, MBA or CPA is preferred.
One year auditing experience required.
International or tax accounting experience is a plus.
Ability to collaborate and take direction.
Ability to communicate fluently in English. Other languages are a plus.
Proficiency using a PC including Microsoft Office products Excel and Word
Travel requirements include the ability to travel overseas. A valid passport is required and the ability to qualify for visas as needed for travel to various countries.
