We are an Anaheim located manufacture of specialized Aerospace components and we have a full time opening for a Bookkeeper / Accountant and Finance Manager. We manufacture specialized aircraft parts in our machine shop which are sold to the Defense and Aerospace industries. This is a fast paced, hands on, multi-role position, at a small sized business requires a self-driven candidate with generalist capacities. You will manage or perform all routine financial duties for a small manufacturing business, including bookkeeping, AR, AP, PR functions, production reporting, billing, banking deposits, bank reconciliation, GL reconciliation, financial statement preparation, tax payments, job costing, and more. This position reports to the President and will also support the Marketing and Production managers with production reports, assist occasionally with bidding and cost proposals, and work on other special finance related projects.
The ideal candidate will have a generalist knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, job costing, reporting, taxes and financial statement preparation. Experience in all finance related functional areas for a manufacturer is preferred.
Job Duties:
Responsible for all financial and production related measurement systems as well as accounting duties and processes internal and external to support a small sized and growing manufacturing firm.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, year end financial statements. General ledger reconciliation and financial statement preparation, supports the external CPA.
Provides accurate and complete reporting and analysis of the operating condition of the company including but not limited to financial condition, cash flow, production and quality metrics, costing reports, and more.
Responsible for all business related data collection systems, labor time collection, time card auditing, cost collection and review, records retention, and job costing analysis.
Responsible for bi weekly Payroll processing including: time card audit, payroll processing, deposit of payroll taxes.
Working capital management, create reports, reconciling bank statements, etc.
Daily processing of AP/AR including: Billing transactions, Reconcile vendor aging and month-end statements, Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits, Verify all transactions and resolve any and all discrepancies, Facilitate payment of invoices due, Process returns and issue credit memos, Post ACH payments.
Work closely with retained CPA firm, attorney, as well as customer cost analysts on occasion.
Support the President, Marketing team and production Teams with costing, pricing analysis, analyzing financial terms of long term agreements, licensing agreements, contracts, and other projects and duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- Small business office generalist experience and skills
- Good communication skills, fluent and effective in English both written and spoken.
- Must be computer savvy and proficient, and comfortable with leveraging technology.
- Computer based MRP experience, such as Vista, Epicore, or Job Boss, or related.
- Computer based Accounting experience, such as Quickbooks, etc.
- Ability to be highly organized, and self-directing, work with minimal direction.
- Computer skills must be solid in Excel and Word, scanning, email
- Some report creation experience: MS Excel, Crystal, or some type of report generator.
- Aerospace, machine shop or manufacturing experience is highly desirable
- BA/BS Degree in Business or Finance or Accounting is highly desirable
- AR/AP processing and accounting experience is required
- Bookkeeping and basic accounting skills, GL balancing, statement prep, WIP valuation,
- Payroll processing experience is required.
- Online banking, online bill payments, wire transfers.
- 3 Years minimum experience working In a Manufacturing Environment
- Supervisory experience is highly desirable but not required.
- Experience with US Govt regulations for Progress Payments and cost accounting is desirable.
- Must be a US Citizen or equivalent and qualify as a US Person in accordance with ITAR regulations (for Government contracts compliance)
