Senior Associate, Accounting & Finance Job Opening in Irvine, California - Job Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day corporate accounting operations, including accounts payable, treasury and the general ledger. Assist in various supporting capacities in a team environment for preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements. Respond to inquiries received from accounting & finance management, acquisitions, asset management, external auditors or other third-party service providers.
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for preparation of journal entries including proper supporting documentation.
Responsible for analysis of corporate entity financials and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Responsible for reconciliation and elimination of intercompany activity.
Responsible for wire transfer activity and accounts payable for corporate entities.
Coordinate with lenders and banks to handle debt and cash management activity.
Assist with the quarter-end consolidation and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
Assist in compiling various monthly and quarterly auditors? requests.
Assist in various capacities within the financial reporting process including but not limited to compiling support for the filing of Forms S-11s, 8-Ks, 10-Qs and 10-Ks.
Assist in review of due diligence and marketing material, as needed.
Assist with ad hoc reporting and other special projects, as needed.
Interface with various departments to assist in resolving reconciling items and general accounting issues.
Other Job Functions:
1. Assist in the improvement of departmental efficiencies.
2. Assist accounting personnel on various projects, as needed.
3. Research and gather information for various departments or as directed by management.
Skills, Education and Experience:
BS and/or MS degree in Accounting or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of previous accounting experience.
Excellent financial accounting and financial reporting experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines and objectives.
Self-starter that is performance oriented and results driven.
Must have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills and exceptional work ethic.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including MS-Excel.
Experience with MRI accounting system a plus.
Real estate experience and working with public companies preferred, but not required.
