Sr. Accountant Job Opening in Sherman Oaks, California - Founded in 1975, The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit of its kind in the United States serving children with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse and emotional problems.
We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Accountant at our corporate office in Sherman Oaks, California to be a integral member of our accounting team. The Help Group is an exciting, fast-paced work environment, which allows professionals to truly be the experts in their field of expertise!
DO YOU POSSESS: Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration and/or a minimum five years experience in accounting. We also require working knowledge of computerized accounting software, spreadsheets and word processing. Expert Level knowledge in Excel. Experience with ABILA/MIP a plus.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the preparation of the monthly closing schedule for the department.
Prepare monthly analysis for assigned projects.
Generate and review accounts receivable aging and prepare credit memos or adjustments to correct accounts receivable aging for grants and projects assigned.
Create and generate financial reports with the corresponding variance analysis.
Monitor recurring monthly journal entries.
Responsible for month-end allocations
Responsible for monthly fundraising revenue summary reports by program for management review.
Assist with the preparation of compliance and cost reports and other government reporting requirements.
Assist with, and review the work of the accounting staff as needed.
Responsible for the preparation of exempt organization annual tax returns.
Responsible for coding and reviewing daily cash receipts.
Assist with the preparation of any government and the agency wide audit schedules and requirements.
Provide Assistance in the evaluation of current IT resources and future needs.
