(UER Corp.) is the parent company to established geotechnical engineering, construction inspection and material testing firms operating as MatriScope Engineering Laboratories and Signet Testing Laboratories has an immediate opportunity for the position of Staff - Project Accountant at our corporate headquarters located in Downtown Sacramento, CA.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in basic accounting techniques including a comprehensive understanding of debits/credits, balance sheets, etc. , specific to Engineering and Construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Audit time cards for accuracy and ensure proper allocation of hours for project costing.
Payroll data entry, prepare pay/expense adjustment notifications and distribute pay/expense checks.
Provides clerical support and general assistance (i.e., filing, copying, scanning, backup coverage, answer phones etc.) and assist Accounting Supervisor as needed.
Certified payroll data entry and monthly union reporting
Ensure sub-consultant work orders are prepared as instructed for project team as well as ensure streamlined process is in place for the timely review and approval of sub invoices.
Log sub invoices and track payment in accordance with work order agreement.
Ability to work with minimal supervision; possess self-discipline with the ability to effectively prioritize.
Strong internal office and field communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Thorough, detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
Ability to represent company in a professional and positive manner.
Experienced in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, QuickBooks, and ERP Billing applications
Maintain cooperative relationships with project managers, department heads, clients and vendors.
Develop and maintain weekly earned revenue reports based on units produced.
Assist Project Manager in identifying variations and other discrepancies from baseline projections.
Work with Project Manager to periodically re-baseline projections based on changes in schedule, staff matrix, or unit production potential.
Develop and maintain charts/graphs that demonstrate financial changes to project and their impact over time.
General accounting including posting of vendor bills and data entry of payroll items.
Certified payroll data entry and monthly union reporting
Enforce policies and procedures consistent with company practices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or demonstrated equivalent.
3+ years of accounting experience; at least 1+ year construction experience.
Experienced in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, QuickBooks, and ERP Billing applications
Detail oriented.
Excellent communication and technical, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collect, organize, analyze, present data for evaluation and decision making.
Effectively organize financial data, analyze and prepare complex Excel spreadsheets.
Work effectively with internal and external clients.
Knowledge and ability to practically apply accounting theory to business issues.
Advanced knowledge of macros, pivot tables, and other modeling techniques.
Demonstrate proven ability to work well under pressure.
