AVP, Research
Oversees the development and implementation of all regulatory, business/financial, education and contractual obligations for research across Inova Health System(IHS).
Directs performance and implements action plans as required to meet the IHS strategic objectives for research.
Leads team of professional research managers, senior program and operations mangers to ensure large complex research projects and initiatives are developed and aligned with organization goals and objectives.
Establishes tactical priorities and assigns outcomes deliverables to appropriate research personnel. Oversees all financial aspects of the IHS research enterprise and all IHS contracted research activities.
Ensures alignment of revenues and expenses to meet contractual sponsor obligations and contracted payment terms and conditions. Implements IHS research agenda and portfolio.
Conducts training and monitoring of all research programs across IHS and conducts in-depth analysis of new initiatives.
Provides leadership and management of oversight for personnel. policies, and fiscal activities for the Inova Research Center. Coordinate compliance activities and oversight with OHRP guidelines, Department of Defense, National Cancer Institutes and any applicable oversight agency for substantive indications of non-compliance with applicable regulations. standards or funding of the specific research.
Ensures Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Research Compliance. Manages day today needs of the IRB; conduct IRB meeting preparations, determination of institutional lever engagement in human subject research and institutional reporting requirements. Ensures Research Agreement Implementation Compliance.
The ideal candidate will have:
Degree in healthcare and/or finance/accounting related field with emphasis in research administration
MBA/MSHA/MHA/MPH
Training training with special focus on implementation of strategic plans.
8 years of Research Administration experience
Experience with employee engagement strategies
Experience leading professional research managers, senior program and operations mangers to ensure large complex research projects and initiatives are developed and aligned with organization goals and objectives.
