Payroll Administrator Job Opening in Waltham, Massachusetts - Benchmark Senior Living is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator who will be responsible for the preparation, documentation and disbursement of all payroll transactions and payroll taxes. Under the Payroll Manager's direction performs tasks related to the processing of the payroll using Ultimate Software and time keeping records in Kronos. Duties include checking and auditing of timesheet records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records, transferring associates within the payroll system, and miscellaneous changes.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Process a weekly payroll for 50+ communities with 6,000+ associates in multiple states
Assist in review of Payroll records to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal Wage and Hour laws, Payroll tax, Overtime, etc.
Posts payroll related journal entries
Research and solve payroll inquiries timely
Provide clear and timely communication
Manage special pay files and other payroll related requests
Provide a consistently high level of quality and customer service to all
Reconcile and balance the payroll records, funding files, and tax records timely and accurately
Reconcile 401k contributions and transmit file to provider
Identify process improvements by identifying issues, process delays and quality problems, and recommend solutions
Work closely with Accounting and Human Resources
Assist with audit requests as needed
Work on special projects as needed
Other duties as assigned

3 years? previous payroll experience at the corporate level with multi-state locations preferred
Experience with payroll software required; UltiPro HRIS preferred
Technical accounting skills preferred
Ability to understand business processes and objectives
Proven problem-solving skills
Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
Ability to adapt and thrive in a changing environment
Strong ability to prioritize based on payroll deadlines and requests received
Strong work ethic coupled with the ability to handle confidential information
Ability to multi-task is essential
Proven customer service and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as a team player
Demonstrates proficiency in: Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel skills
