Mission Advancement Assistant Job Opening in Reading, Pennsylvania - Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is seeking a Mission Advancement Assistant in their Mission Advancement Office.
This future Mission Advancement Assistant will be someone who believes in the Sisters? mission to bring the love of Christ to people in need and will possess communication, computer, secretarial, and accounting skills. Experience with bulk mail, Raiser?s Edge and events are a plus, and professional discretion is required. Our Assistant?s schedule could be part time or full time depending on skills and preferences. Job Description
The Development Assistant performs various administrative and secretarial duties and tasks for the Development Office: maintains a high level of confidentiality; exhibits the initiative and skill level to be self-directed, to prioritize duties and tasks, and to complete delegated duties on or before deadlines; effectively communicates with excellent verbal and written skills; remains approachable and open to suggestions; demonstrates flexibility in a changing environment; effectively copes with a variety of personalities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs administrative and secretarial functions for the Development Department. Serves as the Office Manager in the absence of the Director of Development.
Enters and updates information via computer, mailing lists, contributions, appeals and other data. Ensures the integrity and correctness of data entries.
Prepares Raiser?s Edge reports for Provincial Council/ Director of Development when needed.
Run queries and reports per the direction of the Director of Development.
Assists with coordination of events in the form of mailings, advertising lists, place cards, signs, thank you letters, etc.
Assists with special events as needed.
Coordinates ordering of office supplies, contacts printer, sorts and delivers mail and transports mail to/from Post Office.
Types a variety of letters and documents. Answers routine correspondence, as directed. Handles confidential information with diplomacy and tact.
Maintains files in the Development Office. Answers telephones, relays messages, greets visitors, schedules appointments and maintains regular and open communication with all departments.
Fosters a spirit of hospitality for donors, benefactors, prospects, visitors and staff. Acts as a role model and exhibits cooperation in performing job duties.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding matters related to MSC/SHV business & business relationships.
Works cooperatively with facility staff and volunteers.
Is accountable for all data contained in the employees? handbook as it applies to her/him.
Performs other duties and assignments as needed and directed by management.
Qualifications
Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in computer use (Microsoft, Excel), knowledge in development software, preferably Raiser?s Edge
Ability and willingness to meet and interact with the public in person or by telephone
Respect for confidential matters regarding donors, benefactors and Province
Willingness to learn various aspects of development
Ability to work as a team member
Education and Experience
Bachelors or Associates degree or Office Management Certificate preferred
General office management experience ? 4 years
Accuracy in reports and written communications
Proficiency in use of office equipment and performing bulk mail distributions
Proficiency in English language and interpersonal communication
