Staff Accountant Job Opening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Summary:
Prepares accounting reports and financial statements, maintains subsidiary ledgers, monitors public fund balances and pledging, assists with investment and treasury transaction processing, assists all departmental accounting activities including journal entries and correspondent account reconciliations.
Specific Job Functions:
Aids in the daily processing of the Banks investment portfolio transactions
Monitors the Bank?s public funds deposit accounts on a daily basis and manages pledging activity.
Assists in the daily processing of the Bank?s correspondent bank and treasury activities.
Aids in general ledger accounting, including reconciling investment balance sheets along with others, preparing financial statements, and monthly charts and graphs.
Performs data analysis, assists with budgeting and forecasting for the financial institution.
Aids in preparation of monthly management reports.
Provides general support to the Accounting Department.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree (accounting and finance background).
Good knowledge of accounting principles, as well as good analytical, verbal, mathematical and written communication skills.
