Job Title: Optician
Job Objective: To produce optical sales, dispensing, adjustments and repairs of eyewear.
Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
Optical sales
Dispensing of completed eyewear
Frame adjustments
Frame repairs
Lens and frame returns
Meeting with frame representatives
Provide analysis and report to the doctors on lab invoices
Provide analysis and reports on patient encounters vs. prescriptions filled in each office.
Provide & support training to new candidates as hired to the Optical Team
Marginal Duties:
Daily data entry
Print out new work
Notify patients when materials are ready
Monitor work in progress
Maintain case and sundry inventory
Print sales reports on weekly and monthly basis
Provide training and instruction to new optical employees
Maintain frame inventory
Optical displays
Tools and Equipment used:
Electronic medical record (officemate) optical program
Pupilometer
Lensometer
Various tools used for repairs and adjustments
UV meter, lens clock, and pal identifier
Auto-lensometer
Santinelli remote tracer
Qualifications:
Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational abilities
Able to interact with patients and understand their optical needs
Minimum education of high school
Annual optical inventory
