Energy Auditor Job Opening in Miami, Florida - Energy Auditor/Modeler
AEI Consultants is currently looking for a full-time Energy Auditor / Modeler to join our expanding Energy Services department. The ideal candidate for this position is an architect or engineer with 7+ years of experience in the energy or engineering fields; including 5+ years of experience in conducting Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) and other related services.
A successful candidate should understand ASHRAE, ASTM, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac guidelines, and have good technical knowledge of building systems. The professional in this role should be able to perform refinance and pre-purchase assessments and ASHRAE Level II energy audits without direct supervision, as well as directing a team of professionals on larger properties. Experience modeling commercial and multi-family properties utilizing industry standard software programs such as eQuest, TREAT or Energy Pro is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include performing energy audits, property inspections, review of as-built plans and construction drawings, public records research regarding building and fire code violations, preparing cost estimates for building systems needing repair or replacement, and writing clear, concise reports.
We are seeking a professional, dedicated, enthusiastic addition to a collaborative remote team with the following experience, skills and attributes:
Experience (3+ years) performing energy audits for commercial properties as well as multi-family complexes
Experience (5+ years) performing PCAs
Have a Bachelor?s degree in a related field, ideally architecture, engineering, and/or construction
Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or HUD guidelines and Property Needs Assessments a plus
Have professional engineering license or a registered architect a plus
Have professional energy certification by accredited rating agency (CEM, BPI-MFBA, ASHRAE BA, etc.)
Have extensive knowledge and experience in assessing various property types (including but not limited to commercial buildings, properties, office buildings from one story to high-rise, strip malls, shopping centers, and multi-family housing properties)
Excellent writing and verbal skills
Be extremely organized and have great multi-tasking skills
Personable and able to communicate with people at all levels
Willingness to travel if necessary
Must be a self-starter, resourceful, and have the ability to work productively and independently on multiple projects at a time under strict deadlines with guidance from senior staff
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat
Significant design and/or construction experience a plus
