Senior Accountant - A/C/E Industry Job Opening in New York, New york - Vidaris is a provider of niche consulting services within the architecture, engineering and construction industries focusing on high-performance buildings and specialty structures. Through an integrated, holistic approach, our professionals provide solutions for building envelope, energy efficiency and sustainability projects.
This positon will report directly to the Controller and will involve a variety of general accounting functions, including but are not limited to:
Assist in overseeing the operations of the finance department
Review and approve accounts payable invoices and expense reports
Approve month end closing entries and supporting documentation by junior staff
Support all close related activities related to revenue
Assist in the preparation and flux reviews of revenue transaction cycles.
Review work prepared by Staff Accountants
Provide analysis on balance sheet and P&L account variances
Review of the payroll preparation and related journal entries
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports as needed
Requirements:
BS/BA degree in Accounting
5+ years of relevant general accounting experience
Experience in a Professional Service Company ? a plus
Strong computer skills, especially Excel (ability to use pivot tables, vlookups, and filtering to analyze large amounts of data effectively and efficiently)
Deltek Vision Experience is plus
Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not required
Detail oriented and highly motivated, self-starter, ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills
Seeks ways to achieve better results through leveraging technologies and process improvement
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion
